Seed Certification Dept gets 16 proposals of hybrid rice

National Coordinator on Rice Crop of Pakistan Agriculture Research Council (PARC) has introduced the working papers of all of the 16 proposals of rice hybrids for the advice to the Federal SeedCertification and Registration Department. The proposals had been presented in the meeting of the Variety Evaluation Committee on Rice, which used to be held right here Wednesday with a purpose to make stronger the rice seed business and promote the manufacturing of crop in the nation.

Presiding over the variety evaluation committee assembly, Member Plant Sciences Division, PARC Dr Muhammad Anjum Ali, emphasized the function of quality seed for the productivity and profitability of farmers and appreciated the position of seed companies for making efforts to support the possibility of rice hybrids in Pakistan. Members of Variety Evaluation Committee also liked the position of personal seed companies for taking passion in rice research and development and working in shut collaboration with public sector for boosting the rice output in the country.

Under the provision of Seed Rules 2016, the standard running procedures for the management of National Uniform Yield Trials and comparable industry were also introduced in the meeting, but even so the it also reviewed the standards for evaluation of rice hybrids for evaluating the hybrids sorts of rice for the approaching crop.
