Identify / Evaluate / Analyze / Assess / new as well as existing public potato varieties particular to geographies and Key Performance Indicators.
Development of seed testing protocols and communication with support teams for timely import of testing material
Ensure arrangements of trials seeds (Import/local), submission to Govt. institutes for adaptability/NUYT/DUS trials with respective departments
Timely follow up and ensure submission of variety approval cases for variety registrations and import enlisting.
Critically assist seed teams with geography specific – POP / Spray Schedule / Harvest / Store / Transportation / Seed Handling procedure to ensure quality delivery.
Devising criteria for farmers’ selection for new variety trials.
Developing variety testing protocol at local level with consultation of sector support team
Liaison with Govt. Departments for variety testing and registration
Lead independently for testing, data collection and crop management through close liaison with farmers and team
Developing variety approval cases for submission with Govt. and getting imports approvals
Action plans for implementation of Agro R & D Road Map and strategies in the field
Regular visits to Govt. Institutes and related deaprtments for timely conduct of NUYT
Regular travel across country for trial visits
M.Sc. /B. Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture Agronomy, PBG, Horticulture, Agri. Sciences
Technical know-how about different pest and their control.
Soft hand on MS Office, data analysis software and report writing
Fluent in English and local languages
Min 4 – 6 Years experience in the Agribusiness preferably in the potato growing areas
Good linkages in the fertilizer and Pesticide industry
Committed to safety
Ability to understand the crop position and recommending the effective solution
Confidence to talk to big growers
