The Variety Evaluation Committee of Pakistan Agriculture Research Council (PARC) right here on Tuesday approved 07 new rice verities for industrial cultivation around the crop sowing areas of the rustic.
The Committee which met with Chairman PARC in the Chair, discussed the traits of different verities of rice seeds for business cultivation and their affect on per-acre yield.
The National Coordinator on Rice of PARC offered running paper for all thirty 3 proposals of rice hybrids varieties for recommendation to the Federal Seed Certification and Registration Department. The Committee recommended 7 rice hybrid sorts for industrial cultivation within the country. Representatives of seed firms preferred the role of Pakistan Agricultural Research Council for surroundings the brand new bench marks for testing of rice hybrids varieties in Pakistan for the advantages of farmers as well as rice sector in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Dr Abdul Ghafoor, Member, Plant Sciences Division, PARC emphasized the position of high quality seed for the productivity and profitability of farmers and preferred the position of seed corporations and public sector institutes for making efforts to enhance the possibility of rice hybrids/varieties in Pakistan.
The assembly was attended through via technical contributors from National Agriculture Research System including the Director General, Federal Seed Certification and Registration Department, food Security Commissioner from Ministry of National Food Security and Research.
The representatives of seed corporations including Chairman Seed Association of Pakistan also attended the meeting.
