SIALKOT: The pattern of tunnel farming is rising amongst farmers of Bajwat sector near the border. Naveed Ashraf Gondal, a modern farmer, stated 15 local farmers had established their tunnel farms rising seasonal and non-seasonal crops, together with water melon, strawberry, other greens like ladyfinger, pumpkin, inexperienced chilies, tomatoes.

Gondal mentioned the farmers had established the tunnel farms on a self-help basis without any more or less give a boost to from the agricultural department.

He stated that though the tunnel farming method was once pricey than conventional methods, it was giving higher returns to farmers. He mentioned fertile land of 85 Bajwat area villages — stretched between rivers Chenab, Tavi and Jammu — had the prospective to feed all of the Sialkot area.
